AXA XL partners with Gecko Risk to strengthen EV risk expertise

AXA XL’s UK & Lloyd’s business unit today announced a strategic partnership with Gecko Risk, an electric vehicle (EV) and new energy vehicle data platform, to deepen its understanding of the evolving risks associated with commercial EV fleets.

Through the partnership, AXA XL’s risk consultants and underwriters will gain access to data-driven insights into EV risk profiles, helping them provide more informed support to clients and brokers as EV adoption accelerates.

Poonam Jivram, Head of Motor Underwriting at AXA XL, UK & Lloyd’s, said: “EV car sales topped 20 million globally in 2025 and are expected to exceed 23 million in 2026, according to the International Energy Agency’s Global EV Outlook 2026.
