AXA XL appoints Sylvain Eyraud as Country Manager, Italy
Milan - November 28, 2025
AXA XL today announced the appointment of Sylvain Eyraud as Country Manager, Italy, effective January 1, subject to regulatory approval. He will succeed Saverio Longo who will be leaving AXA XL to pursue opportunities outside of AXA Group.
Julien Guénot, Regional Manager, Southern Europe, commented: “With a GDP of €2.19 trillion, Italy is the third largest economy in the Eurozone and the eighth largest in the world. It is a strategic market for AXA and is part of the Group’s growth ambitions in Europe, exemplified by the announcement in August of the acquisition of Prima, the country’s leading direct insurance player. Italy is also home to a wealth of organisations operating globally, from mid-sized businesses to large corporates, making it a key market for AXA XL.”
He added: “Sylvain’s extensive experience within our business, combined with his proven track record of developing and implementing strategic plans across AXA XL, positions him ideally to drive our business in Italy. As we focus on shaping the strategic direction of our Italian branch, Sylvain will play a key role in fostering collaboration across AXA XL and the wider AXA ecosystem to bring to market tailored solutions that address the evolving needs of our clients and support long-term profitable growth in Italy.”
Mr. Eyraud is a seasoned insurance professional with over 15 years of experience across various strategic and operational roles within AXA. Most recently, he served as Head of Strategy for APAC & Europe and Chief of Staff to Xavier Veyry, CEO for APAC & Europe, where he led strategic initiatives to drive growth and innovation across the Business Unit. Prior to that role, Mr. Eyraud held multiple leadership positions at AXA Corporate Solutions.
