AXA XL appoints Dr. Thomas Götting as Chief Client & Distribution Officer for APAC & Europe

Dublin - October 1, 2026

AXA XL today announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Götting as Chief Client & Distribution Officer for APAC & Europe, effective October 1st. He will be based in Cologne, Germany.

In his new role, Dr. Götting will lead AXA XL’s client and distribution strategy for Europe, Asia and Australia, working closely with local client and distribution teams. He will report to Xavier Veyry, Chief Executive Officer, APAC & Europe and Manuel Meier, Chief Client Officer. Until a successor is appointed, he will continue as Head of Distribution Germany on an interim basis, ensuring continuity for the German portfolio during this transition period.

Dr. Götting has nearly 30 years of commercial insurance experience, including more than 20 years in senior client and distribution roles. A fully qualified lawyer with a German doctorate in law (Dr. iur.) and an international MBA, he has served as Deputy Country Manager and Head of Distribution, Germany at AXA XL since 2021, after joining XL Catlin as Country Manager for Germany in 2018. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at credit insurance specialists Coface and Atradius.
