U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)
The U.S. Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) became law in March 2010 and is effective starting on July 1, 2014. The law is enforced by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Under the provisions of FATCA, payers making payments to AXA XL’s legal entities may need to obtain certain documentation from the AXA recipient of those payments (IRS Forms W-8 BEN E or W-9). Typically, Form W-8 BEN E is provided by non-US entities and Form W-9 is provided by U.S. entities. You can download a copy of all applicable Form W-8 BEN E and Form W-9 through the links below:
Please note that the IRS has not issued yet instructions to the Form W-8 BEN Es; therefore these forms are subject to change upon final issuance of IRS instructions or any subsequent guidance.
