NEW YORK, NY, June 6, 2012 – The insurance operation of XL Group plc (NYSE: XL) announced the promotion of James Thielebeule to Regional Vice President and Manager for the Northeast Region of its Marine business. According to Rich DeSimone, President of Marine, North America, “We are excited to have James fulfill a key position in a key market. His marine underwriting expertise is a valuable resource to our marine brokers and clients. As we look to continue our geographic and profitable growth, James will drive our growth throughout the region, giving our brokers and clients direct access to our local as well as global ocean and inland marine products and capacity.” In his new position, Mr. Thielebeule will manage growth strategy, producer management, and personnel management for all ocean marine and inland marine lines across the Northeast Region and report to Mike Perrotti, head of Marine Field Operations, North America. Mr. Thielebeule joined XL Group’s Marine team in 2003 as an Excess Liabilities Underwriter, soon after being promoted to Product Manager for Excess Marine Liabilities. Prior to his XL tenure, he worked as an underwriter for the Water Quality Insurance Syndicate. Mr. Thielebeule is a graduate of Hofstra University, Long Island, New York.
