To meet the increasing demand for innovative answers to complex risks, XL Group, the insurance operations of XL Group plc (“XL”) (NYSE: XL), announced the strengthening of its team in Germany with the appointment of Dieter Oelkers as Senior Underwriter, International Casualty Strategic Accounts.

Based in Frankfurt, Dieter Oelkers will be responsible for underwriting international industrial liability risks for XL Group’s strategic clients. He is charged with developing innovative risk transfer solutions for the complex risks of large-scale enterprises and to expand the business relationships with customers and brokers in this segment.

Dieter Oelkers brings over 20 years experience in underwriting industrial insurance. He joins XL Group from Zurich Global Corporate Germany, where he last held the role of team leader liability and focused on customer relationships. He started his career at Hamburg-Mannheimer Sachversicherungs-AG.
