XL Group today announced the appointment of a new management team in the Austria and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region based in Vienna.Eduard Billovits takes on the role of Regional Manager Austria and Central & Eastern Europe (CEE), effective immediately. He will lead all of XL Group’s market-focused insurance activities in Austria, as well as in Central & Eastern Europe, reporting to Kadidja Sinz, Regional Leader Continental Europe, Distribution & Network.Erich Bentz was promoted to the newly created role of Regional Manager Central & Eastern Europe. He will be responsible for driving and building XL Group’s CEE operation further. Mr. Bentz will report directly to Eduard Billovits with immediate effect.Commenting on the appointments, Kadidja Sinz said, “We are very pleased to count on the new leadership team to drive the development of our Austria and CEE operation, which is a strong pillar of our business in Europe. He joined XL Group (Winterthur International at that time) in 1998. In his most recent role as Underwriting Manager Casualty, Large Corporates for Austria and CEE, he grew the Casualty book in Austria and successfully expanded XL Group’s Casualty underwriting activities into the Eastern European countries Czech Republic, Poland and most recently Russia.Erich Bentz joined XL Group in 2009 as Business Development Manager Russia/CIS based in Austria.
