XL Group announces new CUO Management Liability, International Financial Lines

XL Group today announced the promotion of Catherina MacCabe to Chief Underwriting Officer, Management Liability. In this role she will focus on driving expansion in XL Group’s international markets (Europe, Asia Pac and Latin America), and diversifying XL Group’s management liability portfolio of Directors & Officers, Public Offering Securities Insurance, Employment Practices Liabilities and Pension Trust Liabilities insurance products to ensure the optimal balance of business.Mrs. MacCabe joined XL Group in 2011 and worked as Deputy CUO, Management Liability. Commenting on her promotion, Louise Dennerstahl, Head of International Financial Lines said: “Catherina is well-placed to lead the International Management Liability team. In addition to significant time spent in the London Market, she has over 25 years’ experience of working in Continental Europe. Her technical ability is further strengthened by her fluency in language, speaking Dutch, English, French and German.”Prior to joining XL Group Mrs. MacCabe led the Executive Risks team for direct business at Munich Re for nine years. Before that she held Account Executive roles at Marsh and Sedgwick in London and Brussels. Catherina started her career in insurance as a graduate trainee in Switzerland at Winterthur International.
