John is Senior Vice President of the AXA XL Risk Consulting Loss Prevention Center of Excellence, where he is involved in loss prevention research and loss prevention training. He started his career as a Fire Protection Specialist (firefighter) in the United States Air Force. After 10 years, he was serving as an Assistant Fire Chief in a 100-member fire department protecting a large Air Force Logistics Center.
John previously worked in Highly Protected Risk Department of Kemper Insurance. This department was later acquired by IRI, Swiss Reinsurance and, finally, AXA XL. He also served on several volunteer fire departments. He continues to integrate his firefighting experience to insurance loss control.
John earned his Bachelor of Science in fire and safety engineering technology while on serving on active duty. Later, he earned a Graduate Certificate in Fire Protection Engineering, an MBA and certifications as a professional engineer, Certified Fire Protection Specialist, and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.
